Over a 20-minute CTA ride from the Loop to Chicago’s West or South Sides, life expectancy declines by 16 years.

The University of Illinois Cancer Center exists to ensure that the astounding progress, advanced screenings, and precision treatments reach equitably into all communities. They are defining the frontier of equitable, precision oncology. They are training the next generations of diverse practitioners and improving outcomes for millions of patients worldwide. At the Cancer Center, where patient trust has been built over generations, 79% of the patients enrolled in clinical trials are Black or Latinx. This unmatched diversity helps underrepresented people worldwide.
